Just a short day trip away from Daytona Beach, yet capable of offering a vacation all its own, is Florida's Space Coast.
Home to Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, the Space Coast includes the cities of Titusville, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne and Palm Bay. All told, the region in east-central Florida offers 72 miles of shore, plus nature tours, fishing from fresh or salt waters and golf.

Cape Canaveral Visitor Complex
Includes a replica of the shuttle Explorer, IMAX movies that launch their viewers into space, a Rocket Garden featuring Mercury and Gemini era rockets, and bus tours that feature launch pads along the Atlantic Ocean's shores.

Apollo 11, which brought the world's first landing on the moon, was launched from this site on July 16, 1969.
Apollo/Saturn V Center

International Space Station Center
Dozens of launches and spacewalks will be required to complete construction of the International Space Station. On a tour stop dedicated to this huge project, you will get a closer look at space station components as they are prepared for flight.
